COMPUTER
FORENSICS
Computer Forensics is the process of applying
technical skills to identify, preserve and present electronic data
as legal evidence. Part of the process is discovering hidden,
deleted, and missing data from computer systems. Situations
that may involve these types of investigations can include internal
sabotage of company systems, internal theft investigations, theft of
trade secrets, employee internet abuse, company policy violations,
industrial espionage, damage assessment, domestic situations, asset
search, harassment, criminal fraud and deception
cases.
Our investigators work closely
with the client to ensure the evidence is discovered, retrieved, and
preserved in a manner consistent with the Rules of Evidence. Since

HIDDEN
VIDEO CAMERAS
Most of us have heard or read the
statistics: According to business owners, managers, and loss
prevention professionals 48% of losses are due to employee theft
totaling over 31 billion dollars a year for American employers. One
of the most effective techniques in detecting and obtaining evidence
regarding employee theft is to install hidden (covert) camera
systems. Typical overt security cameras, like the ones you see in
banks and convenience stores, serve as deterrence – they keep people
honest so long as those people believe that they’re in view of the
camera. What about what goes on beyond the view of those
cameras? What about what goes on in a place of business when the
manager or owner is not around? At NII we use
investigators that are experts in deploying such equipment. We can
set up a system that can observe areas in which undesirable activity
will most likely take place. Above registers, in warehouses, on the
inside and outside of exits, back doors, delivery doors, receiving
areas, bookkeeping, manager’s offices and parking lots.
When
documentation shows a theft has taken place our skilled
investigators can complete the investigation by determining the
depth and length of the dishonest activity and conduct an admission

REMOTE VIEWING
In
situations where the client has remote viewing capabilities with
their CCTV system an agent of Northern Integrity Investigations can
view the media in real time at an off site location. If a situation
occurs the agent will document the event and the client will receive
a report – immediately if so desired. Back
VIDEO FORENSICS
Do you have a surveillance video of a subject, but the video
quality prohibits you from getting a clear picture? Do you have a
video of a license plate, but it was too dark out and you can’t
ascertain the license plate number? Is the video too grainy, snowy,
out of contrast, distorted? With a video forensics expert such media
can be analyzed and enhanced to provide you with the evidence you
need. We can take events that are captured on video/digital camera
systems and enhance the quality, extract the important pieces, and
interpret what is on the media. 
DIGITAL/ANALOG EVIDENCE
REVIEW
If the client has a CCTV system that stores media
either digitally or analog a Northern Integrity Investigations
agent can review the tape for suspicious activity. The time involved
in the reviewing process is greatly reduced due to the trained eye
of the agent who knows what to look for and can fast forward the
tapes to pertinent times of activity.
